Cairo, Egypt 2009 | The Nefertiti Lounge is a design study for a low lounge element which integrates a table element. It can be used as a laptop workspace, coffee table or relaxation seat. The sleek and feminine lines are inspired by the iconic bust of Queen NEFERTITI of Egypt.
The design study was commissioned by the Egyptian Export Council – a state organization supporting local manufacturers. During a 10 days workshop several concepts were new furniture concepts were developed together with young Egyptian designers and furniture manufacturers. The lounge elements was prototyped by ITA Cairo and exhibited at the Milan Furniture Fair 2009 and the Furnex exhibition in Cairo.
